Two thoughts ...

1) Thank you, Mr. Allen, for a gracious and somewhat speedy concession.

2) I cannot remember the last time I saw George Bush not wearing a red tie. Ties are a big deal in DC. "Red" is a "power color" -- when a candidate wears a red tie during a debate they are sending a message. Stupid, isn't it? Should just wander across the stage and piss on the other guy's pulpit, if you know what I mean. Anyhow, today was Day One for President Bush to have to do his job. He's not relaxed. His voice keeps winding up at the end of his sentences ... like one of those people who end everything they say as if they're asking a question. Anyhow, at the briefing with Speaker Elect Pelosi ... yellow tie.

I'm amazed I even noticed it, but it was so bright, so shiny, so sunshiny ... George, I got the message. You're trying to appear compliant, but your voice modulation betrays you. Do not be stubborn. There is no "Victory Scenario" in Iraq. We need to walk away, they need to get their shit together on their own with our assistance, not our influence. Fuck, they shouldn't even be in this mess, but now that we've broken it we must pay for it with practical solutions instead of sending more men and women into the gnashing teeth of your war machine.

Learn diplomacy, George ... diplomacy requires two things: patience and conviction.

Neither of which you have.

I don't fucking believe it.

Had the reasonable not taken back Congress, I expected that the government was going to be off its axis for the rest of my lifetime.

But you -- some of you, anyhow -- showed up, and you said NO! loud and clear.

I never imagined it ... i never dreamed we'd claim the Senate this time around ... proof that, when you show up, stuff happens.

Proof that politics can be immediate?

Donald Rumsfeld stepped down just about twelve hours after Congress was decided.

Still, quote I heard said 40% of the electorate showed up.

We're lucky if we crack 50% of the electorate in a "major" election -- and don't kid yourselves, mid-term or not this was the most important election in a lot of our lifetimes.

But those are pathetic percentages -- PATHETIC -- especially with so much at stake.

Still, we're out of the whirlwind of corruption, deceptions, and pedophilia.

I can breathe a bit better.

Now is where it's going to get interesting.

You people better start paying attention, because this stuff absolutely does affect you, especially if you're a "counter-culture" individual.

Ignorance is not bliss.

Get in the goddamn game.

We have to hold the Democrats accountable too.

Nice one, Ron (highlight all if you care to read text)

If you were a MOVIE VILLIAN, which one would you be!?

Lex Luther

You are so dangerous and filled with evil that it's hard to imagine the world being able to stop you. You love to talk, and hear yourself talk, and can match wits with anyone. You love living the high life and stepping on the little people, intent on asserting your will on those who oppose. You also hate California.

Yeah, John, that's just about what I figured.

All good and well to libel someone, but when they challenge you to come up with the proof you run and hide.

Just like most other Republican tools.

Fuck you, John, and you might start thinking about investing in stem cell research so you can grow a motherfucking spine.

Cunts on the Internet ...

I am forced to put this on the record -- it's a .pdf that I'm hosting on my site of a message board brewing flame war that got locked.

My "tone" apparently comes off threatening to some, but I'm hard pressed to find where I made it personal first.

Sure, I quoted John, but I made a very simple point arguing against the idea of that rhetorical bullshit about how "the world has changed" post 9/11.

I don't know who John Morrisey is, but what I put in his mailbox was something like, "You're the one who started in with the aggressive tone, motherfucker.

You want to start something, tough guy, let's go."

Perhaps Mr. Morrisey will do me the honor of posting the exact text of my EZ Mail to him in reply to this post.

I'm sorry I made you cry, John. I do wish that you'd report me so that I can get canned from a message board where I waste too much fucking time dealing with shitheads like you. Why don't you look into the EZ Board policies about baiting people to notice you? I'd like to know what they think about that.

edit: I invited John to post his reply here, this is what I sent him in private: "Come to my blog and post my initial EZ Mail to you, please.

Stand up for yourself, buddy. Show 'em how I threatened you, how nervous a phantom on the internet made you. Get it on the record. I dare you.

No surprise here ...

Hell, I was a Satanist.

You scored as Satanism. Your beliefs most closely resemble those of Satanism! Before you scream, do a bit of research on it. To be a Satanist, you don't actually have to believe in Satan. Satanism generally focuses upon the spiritual advancement of the self, rather than upon submission to a deity or a set of moral codes. Do some research if you immediately think of the satanic cult stereotype. Your beliefs may also resemble those of earth-based religions such as paganism.
