I Sure do Love Jesus ...

That may surprise some of you who have seen my opinions about religion.

I'm watching something on the National Geographic Channel, a series called The Science of The Bible. And they're trying to reconstruct, from original sources, the Sermon on the Mount. They're teaching their actor who's playing Jesus to speak in Aramaic. They're rooting around to ancient scrolls and scholarly interpretations of the parables and the gospels. And when you look at the teachings of Christ through this sort of an analytical lens, it becomes so much more interesting than just accepting The Bible on faith. Jesus as a subversive, as a revolutionary, as a catalyst is so much more important than as the Son of God.

note: as an atheist, it is immoral for me to capitalize pronouns when referring to Jesus, as I believe that he was a man ... only a man.
