VEEP DEBATE

Well, harder to call this one. Cheney is as evil as he is articulate, and John didn't go for the throat. In my heart, I say a draw, in my mind it's a Cheney victory. I've seen some that raise the point that maybe John's personality won him some style points, and that could be true. He's definitely a nice fucking guy, opposed to Cheney's steely overlord thing, but I just don't think that the rosy personality is going to be the one to sell it this year. I think Edwards should have gone right for the fucking throat. And he didn't. And that's a shame. Fortunately, however, this is going to set up Dubya to have to perform in a stellar manner come Thursday, and Kerry's going to go Clinton on his ass at that town-hall forum. Then all that's left is domestic issues, and Bush doesn't have dick to stand on there, so buh-bye, Georgie!

Kerry's going to own these next two debates, and he's going to have to stand taller because of Edwards' weak showing tonight.

And it's not that Edwards performed badly -- he wasn't nervous, he didn't choke up -- but he really did need to draw blood to make an impression, and that just didn't happen.
