RETRACTION: Apparently -- although the Dept. of Homeland Security is actively searching for information -- they did not, in fact, adjust the terror level today. So, my apologies for overreacting and possibly sending anyone and their families to the bunker. However ... if it, in fact, was not raised, then that means it's been floating at yellow for quite some time. Bad on me for not following this ridiculous alert system more carefully, for a yellow alert shows an extreme plausibility of a potential threat.
I was confused by Tom Ridge's double-talk.
I would also like to thank Jon Stewart for bringing up the point that was floating in my head about how an "implied threat" was so interestingly timed right after the announcement of Kerry/Edwards. Mr. Stewart raises the point that the Elephants needed to think of something to distract from the election, and, so, presto. I do find the timing to be ... quaint. I wonder what sort of shenanigans they're going to get up to during the end of the month during the Dem's convention?
Maybe that's when they'll bust out Osama in chains.
I know it's going to happen.
Something else on CNN said that Osama was behind this latest imminent threat and he's plotting from his hideout on the Afghan/Pakistan border ... pretty much where he's been since 9.11, so I can feel it, man, that sand beetle's going to be hitting the light of day any time now.
