Rumsfeld: Master of Obfuscation

from CNN: [re: winning the UK's Foot in Mouth Prize for comments made about a year ago] "Reports that say something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know," Rumsfeld told a news briefing.

"We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns -- the ones we don't know we don't know."

Now that is some cryptic use of the language. A friend of mine basically subscribes to the Illuminati Theory, in that there are a very small number of, likely, white males who control the destiny of the entire planet's political oceans. I myself feel that there are too many "special interest" groups (ideological, religious, politically correct or otherwise) all vying for that same place in power for an Illuminati theory to be viable or workable. When I hear someone use phrasing like this, however, I become more assured that the possibility of an Illuminati is all but probable.

Our species is too petty to ever be that coordinated.

Of course, he would say that's all just proof of the pudding, that these chaotic elements are put in place to distract us from the real issues.

And, believe me, there's a conspiracy of power, that's a fact, but my boy is giving us way too much credit.

It's far more localized than some global wish to control the species.

It's aboot the oil barons.
