Won't be in Newark today, so no entry for The Daily. Only doing this Wed - Fri, as those are my train days ... Unless I drink too much and oversleep. *le sigh*

I wanna apologize to Gen. Petraeus. He's been nothing but lucid, and his partner pretty much the same. I've never faulted the military for being involved in this mess. I have nothing but sympathy for these men and women who are having "strategery" dictated to them by a petulant dry-drunk.

Here's funny ... General Petraeus is rumored to appear on FOX news after presenting his assessment of the debacle occupation invasion liberation.
Nothing to see here ... move along, move along.

in reading the message boards today (all two of them that I allow myself to visit), I'm getting amped up again. A friend of mine said something stupid on one, I made a post there and someone called me out (quite insultingly) on an issue of specificity for one word in my 300 word post, and on another board I'm just staring ... shaking my head, trying not to feel superior, but wondering how these people have so much time in the day? I mean ... there's tons I should be doing, but I don't have a proper family.
I don't begrudge anyone a good time, but I feel like I have things to get done ... I just don't know what they are.
All I can think of is the great Obi Wan Kenobi's quote -- "Who is more foolish -- the fool, or the fool who follows?"
And, my friends, the answer is the fool who follows.

Something to remember as the anniversary for the successful campaign in Afghanistan during the winter of 2001 rears its ugly head ... we have gone around the days of the weeks since the attack on September 11, 2001. It happened on a Tuesday. This anniversary will be on a Tuesday.
In memorium, we still do not have Usama's turban, we are still in bed with Saudi Arabia, and Iraq is definitely not better off now than it was seven years ago.
So ... other than the dead -- our dead soldiers now outnumber the people lost to the events of that day -- what's to commemorate?
Just food for thought while the rockets' red glare blinds us during this coming anniversary.
Don't forget, too, very important -- General Petraeus' Iraq Report is soon due to be delivered.
Pay attention.

You don't know me.
From being ignored by the "normal" social fabric to street-walkin' Jezabels, aww yeah. I suspect there's another sequel to the ANGEL series in here. No, not the vampire detective, but the "high school honor student by day, Hollywood hooker by night" films.
Just keeps gettin' funnier.
I'm so proud of the new Congress, too.
They rolled over to these bullies faster than John Kerry did on Ohio.
Nice ... good job, gang.
Time to take third parties seriously, folks, and I don't mean Lieberman's idea of an Independent.

We're gonna try this one more time.
I'll be erratic.
I'm killing the comments because I cannot care what you think.
I didn't start this place for you, and some of you -- not anywhere near all of you (one bad apple spoils the whole bunch, as the song says) -- tire me the fuck out, but I miss having a place to ejaculate when my brain gets swollen.
So read it, don't read it, I don't much care.
I may even, on occassion, have something to announce regarding my work, but otherwise I shall be on my usual crusade against American Fascism, American Ignorance, and American Hubris.
Until ... whenever.

News I can use!
See folks, this is called oversight, and this is what you get when you have balance in the halls of government. Drilling in what's left of Alaska is among the worst of ideas in the long, sad history of bad ideas. Those monies should be turned around, immediately, into Alt Fuel Research. Stopping the oil-mongers is the first step though, and this is a fine first step.

![]() | You scored as Leatherface. You are Leatherface. You arent so much evil, as you are doing what it takes to live. You just go along with what the family says, and kill to keep that belly full. Though you may not do it just for fun, you do have serious mental issues, and anyone who happens to bump into you, is sure to live the rest of their life in therapy, that is if they live at all.

'Tis the Season and all.
Pretty good for me for a change ... nice to realize I have friends.
Meg got me this really beautiful ring, a silver band that has this Celtic knot set onto another band which spins around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around and around ... you get the point. It's cool, and certainly the most gorgeous piece of jewelry I've ever owned.
Today I got what I really wanted though, the announcement of John Edwards's candidacy for POTUS in '08 -- now it's a race.
Hillary, do me a favor, and go away ... it's the right thing to do.
I don't want any more legacy appointments in this government for a long, long time.
I think G.W.Bush showed us plenty about how much can get done on name-recognition alone.

... this is important.
The fate of the delicate dolphin is attributed to the destruction of their habitat, illegal fishing and collisions with ships. Regarded in China as the "goddess of the Yangtze", the 20 million year old river dolphin was one of the world's oldest species. The Baiji is the first large mammal brought to extinction as a result of human destruction to their natural habitat and ressources.
